Driving with Diggers is a heartfelt project by Taskforce Veteran, designed to reconnect aging veterans with their military past and community. Operating from the Taskforce Veterans base in the Hunter Region, this initiative offers veterans and other community members the chance to be picked up from their homes or aged care facilities in restored military vehicles—vehicles that once symbolised duty, pride, and mateship.
Each outing is more than just transport—it’s a moment of recognition, a shared story, and a chance to feel the pride of service once again. Facilitated by Taskforce Veteran volunteers, these drives include a friendly chat, a scenic route, and a warm cup of tea or coffee.
